Belcarra by boat: picnic tables, beaches and a calm bay
Belcarra Regional Park sits across from Deep Cove at the mouth of Indian Arm. It gives a boat crew a beach, a picnic and a washroom stop all in one.
Belcarra faces Deep Cove across the mouth of Indian Arm. The regional park wraps around the point and Bedwell Bay, with beaches, a big grassy picnic area and washrooms, which matters on a boat without one.
Getting there
From our dock at Cates Park it’s a five-minute crossing to the east side of the arm. Come in slow near the pier and the beaches, where families swim and paddle on summer days. We show your skipper where you can tie up or anchor at checkout.
What to do
- Spread out a picnic on the lawn above the beach.
- Swim from the beach while the kids explore the rocks at low tide.
- Walk a short loop trail through the forest on the point.
Bedwell Bay
Bedwell Bay, just north of the park, is one of the most sheltered spots in the area. When the afternoon wind picks up in Indian Arm, the bay often stays calm. It makes a good place to stop, eat and let the chop pass.
Fit it into a day
Belcarra works as the middle stop of an easy family half day: swim at Twin Islands first, picnic and washrooms at Belcarra, then ice cream in Deep Cove to finish.
