Add stand-up paddleboards for $40 each per rental, up to two per trip. Boards come with paddles and a lifejacket for each paddler.

Your $300 booking deposit comes off the rental price. On the day we take a $1,000 card hold as a damage deposit and release it when the boat checks back in clean. We charge fuel at cost when you return.

On board

The boat carries the safety gear Transport Canada requires for a vessel its size, and we check it before every trip:

  • A lifejacket for every person, in adult and child sizes
  • Buoyant heaving line and a reboarding ladder
  • Anchor and rode, bailer and manual pump
  • Sound signal, navigation lights and fire extinguisher
  • First aid kit and a chart of the operating area

Fishing and crabbing? Bring your own rods, tackle and traps, and a tidal waters licence for everyone fishing. Read our fishing and crabbing guides first.

Bring a charged phone in a dry bag, food, water, sunscreen, hats and a warm layer for the ride home.

Rental rules

Your skipper

  • Must be 25 or older and show government photo ID at the dock.
  • Must hold a Pleasure Craft Operator Card, or complete the Transport Canada rental boat safety checklist with us before leaving. Visitors from outside Canada can show the boating card from their home country.
  • Stays at the helm, stays sober and stays responsible for the boat until it’s back at our dock.

On the water

  • Stay inside the operating area: east of the Lions Gate Bridge.
  • No open alcohol on board at any time. That’s BC law for a boat like ours.
  • No towing tubes, wakeboards or skiers. No beaching the boat.
  • Engine off and key out before anyone swims or paddles.
  • Paddleboarders wear lifejackets and stay within sight of the boat.
  • Stay 400 metres from killer whales and 100 metres from other whales.
  • No fishing in Rockfish Conservation Areas, and a licence for everyone who fishes or crabs.
  • Back at the dock by your booked return time. Late returns cost the next renter their trip, so we charge for them.

Weather and cancellations

  • If Environment Canada issues a wind warning that covers our waters, or we judge the conditions unsafe, we cancel and you choose a new date or a full refund.
  • Cancel more than 7 days before your trip and we refund your deposit or move it to another date.
  • Cancel inside 7 days and we keep the deposit unless we rebook the time.

The rental agreement sets out the full terms. Your skipper signs it online when you book.
